About us
Marie-Claude Giguère first realized her love of working with seniors while serving as the Director of Recreation and Leisure at two private retirement residences.
During this time, Marie gained first-hand experience and knowledge of how a retirement residence works. And it was also when she realized that the right fit between a residence and its senior residents is so important. Marie met many families who were visiting the residence for the first time to see if it was the right one for their elderly family member to call their next home.
Many of these families had taken it upon themselves to evaluate the myriad of choices of residences in just a few short days to find the perfect one for their loved one. Marie found herself wanting to help those families and their loved one by sharing her know-how and saving them precious time and effort.
When Marie started her family and wanted a flexible schedule to allow her to care for her children, a job with fixed hours just did not work anymore. So, in 1999, Helping Seniors (and Marie’s second child!) was born. It couldn’t have been a better fit!
